Jackson Hole Rafting
Small Boat Slam Whitewater
Small Boat Jackson Hole Rafting
What to Expect
Smaller boats mean bigger waves which means our Small Boat Slam is some of the best fun you can have on the Snake River. This Jackson Hole rafting trip is perfect for those who love hitting every wave, feeling every splash, and just all around having a good time.
Our trained & certified Small Boat Slam guides will take you down the Snake River in an 8-person paddle raft. Our Jackson Hole rafting guides will instruct you on how to approach the rapids, what an “eddy” is, and where to go on the river to have the most fun. Riders on this trip must at least be 8 years old. The minimum age for this trip may be increased depending on water levels.
Please note that if water levels exceed that of 14,000 CFS (cubic feet per second) you may be reassigned to a larger raft for safety. Check out our Snake River flows page for current conditions in the Jackson Hole area.

Recommended Gear
You should plan to get wet during your Jackson Hole whitewater rafting trip! We recommend quick-dry clothes or swimsuits and to avoid cotton materials. Wetsuits are great for colder days, and rain jackets are helpful for rainy days. Shoes are required on all of our trips, there is a walk back to the bus after your trip, and you’ll be glad to have them. We recommend shoes that will stay on your feet and are comfortable when wet. We have more specific recommendations for what to wear on our river conditions page.
Cameras and phones are not recommended, but there are two professional companies that take pictures and videos at the largest rapids. After your trip, the office can give you the information needed to purchase these.
Snacks, water, and a dry set of clothes can be left on the bus for your ride back to our office. There will also be changing rooms available at the office for you to use. We also recommend you wear sunscreen and drink plenty of water prior to your Jackson Hole rafting trip. All necessary safety gear and equipment will be provided for you!
Cancellation Policy
Teton Whitewater has a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you notify us of your intent to cancel your booked trip prior to 48 hours from your departure then we will offer you a 100% refund. For groups of 10 or more, we have a 1-week cancellation policy. Anyone that cancels before these times will receive a 100% refund.
We are limited by the National Forest Service as to how many people we can bring down the Snake River on one trip. If you book a spot on a trip, we are no longer able to sell your seat, therefore, if you cancel within the time of our cancellation policy, we can only refund the money if we can find people to fill the spots you have vacated.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
For Scenic trips you shouldn’t get wet and normal casual clothes are encouraged, it’s always a good idea to bring a light jacket or sweater as well. Your feet might get wet so please keep that in mind and be sure to choose appropriate footwear. Scenic trips include complimentary water as well as blankets and ponchos in case of inclement weather. On the official Class I – Class V rapids scale, the Snake River is classified as a Class II. This means our stretch of river is an intermediate rating and is great for all rafters!

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHITEWATER TRIPS AND SCENIC TRIPS?
Our scenic trip is a 13 mile Wilson Scenic float. It’s a beautiful stretch of the Snake River with typically 8 to 10 people on one scenic boat. The Wilson float is great for seeing bald eagles, moose, and other wildlife and scenery!
Our 8-mile whitewater rafting trip includes splashy rapids like Big Kahuna, Lunch Counter, Ropes, and Champagne, so you are sure to get tons of splashes and have a lot of fun!
Both trips include an experienced and trained guide, ask them whatever you want! Both scenic and whitewater trips are amazing and by far the most fun you’ll have in Jackson Hole!
